Questions people ask

How does the due date calculator work?

It uses Naegele's rule — the standard obstetric formula — counting 280 days from the first day of your last period, with an adjustment if your cycle is longer or shorter than 28 days. You can also calculate from conception or an IVF transfer date.

Is my information private?

Completely. Every calculation runs in your browser, and the dates you enter are stored only on your own device using localStorage. Nothing is transmitted to any server.

How big is the baby each week?

Our week-by-week guide follows the baby's average size with a familiar fruit or vegetable comparison each week — from poppy seed at week 4 to small pumpkin at week 40, with measurements in inches and centimeters.

When should I head to the hospital?

A common guide is the 5-1-1 pattern: contractions 5 minutes apart, each lasting about 1 minute, for 1 hour. Your provider may give you a different threshold — always follow their guidance.
